Volunteer Appreciation

Today we say a huge thank you to Jason!

Jason is one of our Rehomers, helping Bostons (and crosses) who find themselves in need of a new home. This role carries a lot of emotions. Speaking to the original family who, in most cases, are devastated to find themselves in a situation where they need to rehome their beloved dog. Then coordinating volunteers to have the dog assessed, finding a foster home, coordinating more volunteers to transport the dog, liaising with the foster home, vetting adoption applicants, arranging home checks and then transporting the dog to their new home…there is a lot going on!! ⭐️

Back in August-23, Jax came into the rescue from a very sad situation. He came under Jason for rehome and, due to his location, Jason was able to transport Jax to his foster home. He was a very frightened pup who was quite poorly on arrival to his foster home.

Many phone calls, emails, sleepless nights, and with the fabulous help of his amazing fosterers, Jax was ready to find his forever after 💙 Jason had to vet a lot of applications - A LOT. Due to various circumstances leading successful applicants to drop out of the running for Jax, it took another 3 months to find Jax a forever home.

Well… YESTERDAY WAS THE DAY 😍 Jason was extremely committed to Jax and wanted to ensure he made it on his journey. Off he drove 2-3 hours from his home (on his wife’s birthday as well!!!) to take Jax from foster to forever after ⭐️ It was a 7 hour day (and his wife forgave him because she loves dogs!) but Jax finally made it home 💙

Thank you Jason for all the work you put in to finding Jax his perfect home and your dedication to the dogs that come under your watch ❤️

…and as you can all see - Jax has gone from being a terrified pup (we won’t share the original photos) to a happy boy who loves attention. Thank you from us all (and Jason!) to Jax’s wonderful fosterers for all the hard work and dedication they gave Jax 💙
